Fennel Cooking Studio

in St. Louis, Missouri

Fennel Cooking Studio is a teaching kitchen and community space offering cooking classes, private events, community gatherings, and more, all with the goal of getting folks excited about food.

Our classes are hands-on and open to students of all cooking ability levels. Classes focus on exploring new flavors and techniques in an approachable way and building kitchen skills that transform cooking from a stressful, daunting chore into a creative, joyful process. When you walk away from a Fennel class, you’ll have spent the night cooking in a delightful space, meeting new friends, eating delicious food, and learning new skills that you’ll be excited to try out at home.

Our space is about more than just cooking, it’s also about community. We design classes to get people talking and cooking together - not just sitting in silence and watching the instructor.

Jackie Price, Founder

Jackie Price MS, RD, LD is a chef, culinary instructor, and registered dietitian. She grew up in the Washington D.C. area, where by the age of 13, she was meal planning and cooking all of her family’s meals, interning at area restaurants, and wishing for chef’s knives as birthday gifts. She studied Culinary Arts and Nutrition at Johnson & Wales University in Providence, RI, where she worked as a teaching assistant and built her love of teaching others how to cook. Jackie made her way to Saint Louis, MO to become a registered dietitian and earn her Master’s Degree in Nutrition and Culinary Entrepreneurship at Saint Louis University. After completing graduate school, she fell in love with the culinary community in Saint Louis (and her wife, Beth), and made the city her home.

Jackie worked as a freelance recipe developer, pastry chef, and school lunch program manager before honing her teaching skills as a culinary instructor in SLU’s Department of Nutrition and Dietetics, where she still teaches undergraduate culinary classes as adjunct faculty. Jackie launched Fennel Cooking Studio with the dream of creating a community kitchen where cooking classes, dinner parties, and other events could bring people together through delicious food.
